Los Angeles Times, Daily Journal, and Law.com Interview Joseph McNally on Meta’s $17 Billion Settlement and What Comes Next
The Los Angeles Times, Daily Journal, and Law.com interviewed Joseph McNally(opens in new tab), Director of Emerging Litigation, about Meta’s recent $17 billion settlement. Announced on August 26, the settlement resolves claims against Meta in all 50 states, U.S. territories, and Washington, D.C.
McNally notes that the settlement could be a driving force in resolving these cases and “get to the other side of this.” The facts and evidence about what the company knew and how it responded are not looking good for Meta, and the settlements are a step toward cleaning up its reputation.
“Parents, teachers and others are much more educated having had this litigation publicly play out over the past year than they were two years ago. They’ve then heard and seen through the news coverage that those incidents were corroborated by admissible evidence in court,” McNally said to the Los Angeles Times.
