Jeff Ponting

Senior Lawyer

Prior to joining McNicholas & McNicholas, LLP, Jeff Ponting held varying positions with California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc. He served as the organization’s pro bono director, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of CRLA’s statewide Private Attorney Involvement Plan, establishing strategic partnerships, supporting development efforts and monitoring CRLA’s compliance with regulations. He was integral to developing programs to benefit indigenous Mexican farmworkers in the state, and advocating for individuals in cases involving employment, education, housing, civil rights violations and other matters. He also has experience assisting clients in political asylum proceedings, removal and exclusion defense and other aspects of immigration law.

Head of the firm’s Oakland office, Mr. Ponting brings nearly three decades of employment litigation experience, representing plaintiffs in discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour and other employment matters. Mr. Ponting is conversant in Spanish.
