The Los Angeles Times interviewed Joseph McNally, Director of Emerging Litigation, about the landmark decision in the Los Angeles Superior Court, where jurors found Instagram and YouTube liable for designing their platforms to addict young users.

This verdict could establish a precedent for thousands of other ongoing lawsuits across the country and may alter the way tech companies are held accountable for harm to children caused by their products. 

McNally said to the Los Angeles Times, “Internal emails here were key — they painted a picture of indifference at Meta.”
