Newsweek Interviews Joseph McNally on Latest Update in Nancy Guthrie Case

Newsweek spoke with Joseph McNally about the latest developments in the Nancy Guthrie case. A new evaluation of evidence by a former detective has heightened concerns about the 84-year-old’s whereabouts. The warning comes more than four months into the investigation, which has so far yielded no suspects, arrests, or confirmed breakthroughs.

McNally stated that the FBI’s doorbell camera footage, released in February, was among the most divisive elements of the case and proved that Guthrie didn’t leave on her own. He emphasized that investigators have been tracking digital evidence from the start, noting that “we leave digital footprints everywhere,” and remains confident the case is solvable despite challenges.

McNally said to Newsweek, “Someone out there, beyond the perpetrator, likely knows who did this. If they tipped off law enforcement, that would help break the case.”
