Los Angeles Business Journal Names Matthew McNicholas and Patrick McNicholas to 2025 Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys List
Partners Matthew McNicholas and Patrick McNicholas were named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2025 Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys list, recognizing the significant impact their work has had on law, policy, and public safety.
Highlighted for representing police, firefighters, and other first responders. Matthew holds unethical employers accountable for misconduct and discrimination, driving real change within departments. As panel counsel for the Los Angeles Police Protective League and the United Firefighters of Los Angeles, he is Southern California’s leading employment attorney for first responders. In 2024, he secured over $27 million in employment resolutions, fighting misconduct in law enforcement.
Patrick was praised for serving as lead counsel in the recently approved $4 billion settlement between Los Angeles County and over 7,000 victims of systemic sexual abuse at juvenile detention facilities. He acted as a key negotiator and helped unify and coordinate the efforts of multiple firms to stay focused on securing justice for the victims. His efforts also included holding large utility companies and manufacturers responsible for California’s devastating wildfires. In 2024, Patrick secured $331 million in wildfire settlements.
