Matthew McNicholas and Patrick McNicholas Named to Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2025 LA500 List
Partners Matthew McNicholas and Patrick McNicholas have been selected for inclusion in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2025 LA500 list, which recognizes the most influential leaders in the Greater Los Angeles region.
Matthew’s profile highlights his achievement of securing over $27 million in employment resolutions last year, as well as serving as panel counsel for the Los Angeles Police Protective League and the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City. He transformed public building inspections in the fire department, led LAPD revisions of arrest and ticketing procedures, and aided in removing an LAPD captain who retaliated against officers. Additionally, he represents over 600 undercover LAPD officers whose identities were unintentionally disclosed in a public records request.
Patrick’s write-up highlights his role as one of the earliest attorneys to initiate a lawsuit against Southern California Edison concerning the Eaton Fire. Additionally, he served as co-lead counsel for victims of the Dixie and Creek fires who filed suit against Pacific Gas & Electric Co., Edison, and the state Department of Water and Power. Furthermore, earlier this spring, Patrick was among the lead attorneys who achieved a groundbreaking $4 billion settlement from Los Angeles County on behalf of over 7,000 plaintiffs who sued the county for sexual abuse in juvenile detention facilities.
