$25M Settlement for Dixie Fire Victims

Dixie Fire Victims

McNicholas & McNicholas secured a $25 million settlement on behalf of approximately 4,200 plaintiffs—more than any other law firm—affected by the 2021 Dixie Fire, the largest wildfire in California history. PG&E admitted that its electrical equipment caused the fire when it malfunctioned and came in contact with surrounding trees. Because of this lawsuit and the billions of dollars PG&E has paid out in other fire-related lawsuits the firm has filed, the company announced a plan to spend more than $15 billion burying 10,000 miles of power lines to reduce wildfire risk.
