LAPD Makes Catastrophic Mistake by Releasing UCs Personal Information

The LAPD has erroneously released photos of LAPD UCs. This includes full-time UCs and "intermittent" UCs, i.e., people working GIT and Vice, as well as other units, where they go in and out of being a UC.

It is our understanding that Chief Moore was NOT made aware of the decision to release, and the decision was made by the Office of Constitutional Policing and Policy. Our investigation continues, but this is what we have learned so far from speaking with hundreds of active officers, GIT Lts, and others.

While The League is certainly doing everything it can, we are preparing a direct action for compensatory damages to compensate you for the harm you have suffered, which may include having to leave the job early. This litigation is in addition to the various steps The League has taken, and will be taking.

McNicholas & McNicholas LLPThe Law Offices of Gregory W. Smith, LLP and Rains Lucia Stern St. Phalle & Silver, PC, are working together on this, and are currently representing over 150 UCs and counting -- we are working as a single litigation team. (This, of course, does NOT raise the fee)

These cases are done on a contingency basis, and we forward all costs. Simply, that means if there is no recovery, you owe no fees.

The three firms have, collectively, over 200 years of direct experience litigating for police officers. McNicholas & McNicholas, in the last 10 months alone, has three verdicts against the LAPD for $4.3 million, $1.0 million, and $10.1 million, and has over $100 million in results against the LAPD over the last 23 years, going all the way back to the Gates' days.

McNicholas & McNicholas, LLP, is also a mass tort law firm with over $1 billion in mass tort results in the last 4-years. We currently represent over 15,000 victims of wildfires, over 3,500 victims of the Carson Order Drift, and represent many people in Porter Ranch. This photo release is a mass action, and we have that experience.
